Caleb The Mechanic
The "Solomon Kane of Catholic podcasting" brings you Catholic commentary on current events both in and out of the Church, focusing on the big picture, future possibilities in the world, how they relate to prophecy; and practical actions that can be taken by the faithful, in hopes of being good stewards of what God has given, in His Grace.
My Story
Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised across America, I was a fallen away Catholic for most of my life. As a teen, I was "born again" in a Protestant "non-denominational" sect, and fell into a form of "Christian occultism" that included Gnosticism and a widely varied set of practices that was influenced by witchcraft, Santeria, voudoun, tarot and other forms of divination. Parallel to that, I'm a 18-year combat veteran of the US Army with experience as a Parachute Infantryman, Combat Engineer, Military Police Investigator and in Asymmetric Warfare (Counter-Terrorism, Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Intelligence). My military career ended in Court-Martial, Dishonorable Discharge and prison. I will never tell you that I was a good man. I was corrupted, debauched and degenerate in ways most people cannot imagine and in ways I can never adequately do penance or make full restitution for. However, I was Not Guilty, and like many uncounted others, was steamrolled by a government who wanted to "make an example" for political gains. It gave me a new perspective and aided my return to the Faith and Communion in Christ's Church. Today, I have a day job as an Aircraft Mechanic. As I returned to the faith of my fathers, I realized my experience type and point-of-view was absent in the Catholic commentariat, and so I started Radio Free Catholic as a passion project.
